BETTER THAN BOQUETE! Boquete has gotten a lot of press, but many folks who have visited both consider Volcan to be more desirable. It has better weather, there are more places to drive to, and real estate prices are still on the bottom side of the boom.
Volcan is not large, with an area population of about 20,000, but here you will find almost everything you need for a comfortable, tranquil lifestyle. The town has many restaurants, several modern grocery and hardware stores, gas stations, banks, etc. There are two English speaking doctors and dentists.
Mountain Peace Estates is located on the outskirts of the town, at an elevation of about 4700 feet. Here daytime temperatures are in the 70’s, every day, all year long. Nights are always in the 60’s, perfect for comfortable sleep. At lower elevations air conditioners are common, at higher ones some sort of heating is required, but here neither is necessary, so utility costs are low.
The area is a gardener’s paradise. Orchids grow wild, and the roadside “weeds” are flowers. It’s common to grow several crops of vegetables per year. Limbs driven into the ground for fence posts sprout leaves and grow into full size trees!
If there is anything you can’t find here, the state capitol of David is a scenic 45 minute drive down the mountain on an excellent highway. It has several modern hospitals and a handy regional airport. David’s huge new mall is as complete and as modern as any you could find anywhere.
THE PROJECT
Mountain Peace Estates is a small residential community of only fifteen view lots nestled in a rural mountain valley, yet it is less than two miles from the center of town. The street is paved, and all utilities are underground so there are no unsightly overhead wires to spoil the great views.
