La Paz Beachfront Getaway Cottage, Relax and Recharge
Come to the Sun Specials in 2010: Jan. 4-May 31 SAVE $100 per week for a rate of $525.00 per week Applies to full week stays.
This is the place to come to do nothing. Well you can kayak, walk on deserted beaches, collect shells, float in the sea or the salt-water pool, and if you are really energetic, drive to town for ice cream or dinner.
You won’t want to go to sleep and miss one second of the city lights view, and the moonrise over the bay which can only be described as romantic. Enjoy your first cup of coffee wrapped in one of our soft, white robes. That is if you want to leave the silken 600-thread count sheets in your wicker sleigh bed. Your home away has a fully equipped kitchen, WI-FI, A/C ,and of course the view and use of the salt-water pool.
Want to beach comb? Do it right here. Or,if you want to drive to deserted beaches your hosts provide canvas and teak sand chairs and a miniature market umbrella, a cooler and directions to the best shelling around.
Our neighborhood is surrounded by a federal bgiological ere is a research institute at the far end of the beach.
Birders! There are 60 species of birds that nest here. Including a pair of great horned owls. Osprey wheel and soar and swoop near our pool. Wake to the sounds of igate birds steal from each other, baby ospreys squeal and demand food. Hawks swoop, and even the lowly vulture visits here.
This little jewel of a guesthouse is not for the party hardy crowd.
We cater to you: the thoughtful, busy person when you want to disconnect and lay down your load for a few days or a week. Or even take a vacation from your vacation. Our guests have come to heal, to start a new love relationship, to celbrate a marriage, or just to be free of schedules.
We can arrange for a massage therapist to come to you.
La Paz is the center of eco-tourism. you can charter a boat that takes you to swim with sea lions, snorkel around a sea mount, anchors off of Isla Espiritu Santos and you kayak to shore. When you arrive, lunch is waiting.
You can go diving with the whale shark, and swim with wild dolphins, they will find you.
We even have a serpentarium where you can get up close and personal with lizards and snakes that inhabit the desert.
We live in the main house year-round. We pulled the plug on Silicon Valley 8 years ago. We know what it means to get away and do nothing, and how important recharging time is. And you are welcome to join us for sunset drinks or a meal...or not.
What some of our guests have said:
When my son and daughter -in-law came for a brief visit, we made the casita in our old house a romantic haven. Including chocolate on their pillows, some lovley, perfectly chilled white wine and miniature cookies in a gilded box.
I added my mother’s hand embroidered pillowcases that were in her trousseau.
We dubbed it the “Honey Moon Hut”.
The name stuck and carried over to our new home and guesthouse on the beach in La Paz. One sweet couple gifted us with the guestbook, and entitled it, “The Honey Moon Hut Diary” And they inscribed it: “To all that enter this casa, may your life and love be joyful and prosperous.”
And here are some excerpts from it’s pages:
"Thank you for allowing me to share the honeymoon hut with my new love, M. We shared many wonderful moments, Cathy
And from M:
"Your honeymoon casa is a very warm and loving spot in the desert where you can grow very close to someone you want to spend the rest of your life with."
Star crossed lovers re-united after 20 years said this:
"As we move along the road of our lives we will remember the special times we spent in the warmth of the Baja sun with you. Memories will include starry nights, sea breezes, the color of the sunrises and our shared love. May we meet again."
J & N:
"Your hospitality has been warm like the Mexican sun."
Marina our Italian friend stayed and cared for our royal Chihuahua Abigail Maria Sanchez, she said : "Your casita as I said, is wonderful and ank you for letting me stay( and she was dog-sitting)."
And J & N who are building a house nearby came again and said: "It’s good to be home, well almost!"
My sister-in-law Eileen came a few months after a radical mastectomy: "My time here was relaxing, enjoyable, and definitely different, which leaves me with lasting memories, especially the beach combing. Your casita is great and your home and surroundings are great for R & R with lots of beauty."
Only three more comments.
So here are more words from our guests:
MissMeliss:
"I am sorry it took us nearly an eternity to visit you in your dreamed of beachfront always you have made your home as warm and loving as it would have been if I’d actually grown up here."
Louise the flight attendant and her new husband Bob the retired pilot:
"We are honored to be your first guests of 2008. Thank you for offering your paradise to us, and what a paradise it is. La Casita was perfect we wish we could have stayed longer. But we’ll be back!"
And Barabara and Boyd : "Our 2 1/2 year anniversary was spent in your Honeymoon cottage on the beach. You are very gracious hosts and made us feel extremely welcome and at home."
