Asking Price: 57,140 €
In 2001 the districts Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain became one district under the name Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The district is located close to Berlin’s centre. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 this district suddenly became the geographic centre of the city. The coexistence of a variegated palette of cultures builds the distinguishing character of the quarter. The beautiful Oberbaumbruecke connects Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. Friedrichshain was part of East-Berlin and has become an alternative district like Kreuzberg over the last years. Here one can still find some typical impressive boulevards from the time of the German Democratic Republic.
One example is the Karl Marx Allee which is lined with Soviet architecture buildings which were constructed for the working-class. Around the famous Simon-Dach-Strasse is a dynamic area with various pubs, lounge bars and restaurants and an amazing nightlife. One of the mostly visited tourism sites in Berlin is the East Side Gallery. With graffiti on 1.3km, this is the longest remainder of the Berlin Wall still standing today. The oldest part of the district is the Stralau peninsula which is located on the premises of a former industrial park. In the last years this area has been developed into an ensemble of historic industrial ruins, modern housing, the core of an old village and idyllic parks.
The new European Headquarters for “Universal Music” as well as the new HQ for MTV Central Europe are located in this up and coming area. This apartment is in a central location. Public transportation as well as shops for daily usage are within walking distance. The popular Simon-Dach-Strasse is just around the corner where you can find a lot of bars, restaurants and cafes. The polished floorboards and the original door allow for a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere.
