Large openings between concrete pillars are screened by fiberglass mosquito screens for ‘bug-free’ enjoyment of the area. These openings are also protected from hurricanes by means of the “StormCatcher” wind abatement system that has approval for use in Florida. System has been tested to deflect winds of up to 165 mph and is large missile rated. It is lightweight, easily deployed using only a screwdriver, and is easy to store by simply rolling up and securing above openings using Velcro straps. Concealed ceiling lighting uses compact fluorescent bulbs. Hunter “Sea Air” ceiling fans are installed to provide outdoor comfort on hot days enabling year round use of the area. Ample power points are provided. Beneath the porch area is the concrete pad for future installation of a whole house generator. All electrical work is complete and the necessary transfer switch box is installed.
