Luxury Custom Home Overlooking Golf Course & River for Sale in Casa 56, Boquete, Chiriqui, Panama

Best View & Value in Valle Escondido! Move in Ready!

Exceptional Valley, River & Golf Course View! Move in and be lulled to sleep tonight with the sounds of the river!

Valle Escondido is a private, gated, guarded residential community, a 15 minute walk from “downtown” Boquete. This beautiful “hidden valley” with a private golf course, country club and a meandering year round river, has four residential areas: four-plex condos, duplexes or “villas” and two areas of custom houses ranging in price from $345,000 to several million.

Casa 56 is located in the “Vista Baru” area of custom homes and offers a stunning view of the Valley, the river, the golf course, and the Valle Escondido Hotel. It has one of the best views in the Valley . . . as well as the best value in the Valley.

Although Casa 56 is priced to sell, the value is not just in the price and view but in the quality of construction.

Until recently most Panamanian homes are cinder block. Recently panels of Styrofoam and chicken wire have been introduced. These are then covered with concrete. Many of the homes available in Valle Escondido have been built using this new Styrofoam technique. Earthquakes tend to produce lots of cracks in the cement covering of the Styrofoam. The long range health effects of living in a Styrofoam home are unknown.

Casa 56 was built by an American engineer using the traditional US “stick built” style of construction, only instead of using 2x4 lumber, he used 2x6 steel!

The house is 5 years old, so you can look at it and see how it is going to hold up. You know what you are getting. Although all the houses in Valle Escondido look nice, there are differences in the quality of construction and the quality of the finish work.

We have loved living here for four years. During this time we have also acquired a small coffee farm and we have just finished building a house on the farm. You can visit my blog, URL above, to find out a lot more about life in Panama!

What we will miss about Valle Escondido:

1. Our spectacular Valley view
2. Going to sleep every night to the sounds of the river below us
3. Being able to walk over to neighbor's homes for coffee, an afternoon drink, a party or an informal, spur-of-the-moment dinner
4. Security of a gated, guarded community

Call me with questions! Panama is on Eastern STANDARD time year round, and I go to sleep - did I mention lulled by the sound of the river? - at 9PM, but I'm up at 5AM for you Brits and early risers.

In case you wondered: homeowner's fees are $75 a month (trash, common area maintenance, security, water). Our electric runs from $65 to $85 a month: when it is really rainy we use dehumidifiers which suck electricity. Propane gas (cooking, hot water, dryer) runs us about $50 a month.

Would we ever move back to Southern California? Never! We have clean air, pure water, nights where you can actually see the Milky Way, no gang bangers, virtually no crime . . . and about 1/3 of the cost of living in Southern California.

Will consider TRADE for home/condo in Seattle area - where my kids live.
