Townhouse For Rent in Playas Del Coco, Guanacaste Costa Rica Playas Del Coco 2br Townhome, 200 Meter Walk To Beach! Rent It For: $70 - $110 USD per day This is a 2 level, two bedroom townhome (approx. 700 sf) located in a new development along Coco beach. It has a living area with a fully equiped kitchen and 1/2 bath downstairs, 2 bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. There is a/c in both bedrooms and ceiling fans downstairs, which keeps it very comfortable. The balcony overlooks the pool area and has great views of the hillside areas.
This townhome is only about 200 meters from the beach, about 2 minutes walk (slowly, no hurries here) and a 10 minute walk into town along the road or the beach. There is a commercial center in the condo complex with a great Italian restuarant, internet cafe, a mini mart and several other shops. You can also rent bikes and kayaks in town.
There are several dive shops that offer lessons in town and deives out to some islands and other dive sites. I've ben told that the marine life is fascinating on these dives. You can snorkel from the beach and see a lot, too. There are surf tours to places like Ollie's Point and Witch's Rock, and Tamarindo and Playa Grande are about an hour's drive away. There is no surf at the beach here (and no rip tides either) so the beach is safe for swimming and children. There are also several national parks nearby, great for day trips. Sport fishing, bird watching and canopy tours are also very popular and nearby. The howler monkeys that are about a block towards the beach are fun to watch, too.
El Coco has many restaurants, stores and some nightlife where you can hear and dance to lots of latin sounds. Walking around town, visiting various shops and relaxing at the park are great ways to spend a day. There is a small park in the center of town where you can get these delicacies called "granizados". It is a shaved ice cone with powered milk and condensed milk added, very sweet and cold.
El Coco still has that small town feel, and is not a full-blown "Resort" type place.

Green Season - May 1 to Nov. 30, 2009, $70/night, 3 night minimum or $475/week
High Season - Dec. 1 to Dec. 20, 2009, $85/night, 3 night minimum or $550/week
Holiday weeks - Dec. 21 to Jan 4, $110/night, 5 night minimum or $700/week
High Season - Jan 5 to April 30, 2010, $85/night, 3 night minimum or $550/week
Green Season - May 1 to Nov. 30, 2010 $70/night, 3 night minimum or $475/week
Security Deposit of $100 upon arrival to receive keys, to be returned provided there is no damage or loss in the apartment. No smoking in the condo, please.
