We have begun a reforestation project that will soon recover deforested areas with thousands of endangered trees. It's one example of our commitment to protect the delicate ecology of Costa Rica.. date we have planted over 150 trees and over 20,000 soil sustaining vetever plugs to combat erosion. In the month of August alone, we planted an additional 9,000 starts of Maní, a native relative of the peanut, which spreads rapidly over naked soil and provides an excellent natural mesh for erosion control. Our nursury houses over 1030 starts of native trees and plants. We are currently researching which of the 46 varieties of endangered hardwoods will thrive on our land. As our research continues, we will update this site with information and progress reports.
