Magnificent Villa - Tourism Housing

Magnificent tourism housing Villa

Located in Aldeia de Cima in Armamar, the Capela de Cima House, dating back to the XVII century is a manor with Chapel – a tribute to Sain Mary of Guadalupe, held as the most ancient in the Aldeias Parish, in Armamar.

The title of Chapel was bestowed to it (one of the richest in the whole ??? of Lamego) by Manuel Cardoso Madeira, on the 21st of November November 1697. Its precious register (together with other documents) was lost in the big fire which in December 1999 consumed all the interior and furniture of the Manor, This building was completely restored respecting its original architecture.

Its Coat of Arms belongs to the Cardoso, Fonseca and Madeira families

The Chapel is mentioned in some written works, namely the excellent work by J. Gonçalves Monteiro, “Subsidies to the Monography of the Armamar County”.

The house and the chapel are pictured on the tourist postcards published by the Armamar City Council, in a reproduction of the house and chapel in a magnificent ink drawing.
