Spacious and bright Scandinavian Funkis style villa, designed by one of Iceland's leading architects Kjartan Sveinsson. Centrally located in the peaceful town of Selfoss, 50 minutes drive east of Reykjavík. Its location offers unique possibilites for one day excursions to the most famous tourist attractions in the country. A combination out of the ordinary, a house of architectural beauty, space and comfort in the middle of the most sought after tourist attractions in the country. So close to Reykjavik too, that you can enjoy everything that the city has to offer without being dependent on your own car, due to frequent bus trips.

The villa is rented for a minimum of three days.

The villa is on two floors, with a large balcony and garden. Sleeps five people, in four separate sleeping rooms. (Two rooms upstairs, two downstairs).

Upper floor: Large living room/dining, large kitchen with dishwasher and refrigerator. Two bathrooms and WCs. Sleeping room with dressing room and bathroom with bathtub and another separate Sleeping room or study.

Ground floor: Two sleeping rooms. One WC. Kitchen with refrigerator and basic cooking facilities. Washing room with a washing machine and basic shower facility.

The space for rent is approximately 180 m2.

Size of beds: Upstairs 180 cm (DUX™). Ground floor: 140 cm, 105 cm (DUX™).

Provided: Eiderdowns, bedclothes, towels. Kitchen equipment.

Thoristun is within 5 minutes walking distance to bus station (to and from Reykjavík etc), shops, banks, library, cinema, and Hotel Selfoss, (overlooking a magnificent river and the "local" mountain, Ingólfsfjall), with its renowned spa facilities and Riverside restaurant. Menam restaurant, voted the best Thai restaurant in Iceland, is in the next street to Thoristun. Ten minutes walk to an outdoor geothermal swimming pool, children friendly, with hot pools and outdoor sauna.

Selfoss is located in a varied and beautiful region. You only have a 10 minute drive to the black sand seashores of the North Atlantic, 1 hour drive to the famous and very active volcano Mount Hekla and the uninhabited, wild interiour. Selfoss is half an hours drive from Thingvellir, a place of incomparable beauty - the historic Parliament site from the times of the Sagas. Only 70 kilometers away are some of the most renowned sightseeing spots in the country, The Golden Waterfall (Gullfoss) and the geothermal area with the one and only Geysir. Half an hour’s drive away is Hvolsvöllur and Fljotshlid, where Njal’s Saga takes place. In little more than an hour you can reach the spectacular attractions of the south coast, with glaciers, waterfalls and very impressive and varied cliffs. You can make a one day excursion to the national park of Skaftafell, surrounded by Europe´s largest glacier (possibly the best place in Iceland for relatively easy and magnificent hiking), and the famous iceberg lagoon, Breidamerkurlon, where you can sail amidst the icebergs.

Winter rates: 580 Euros per week. Each additional week: 490 Euros.

Summer rates: 750 Euros per week. Each additional week: 590 Euros. Summer rates valid July 1st.

Autumn rates: 650 Euros per week. Each additional week: 520 Euros. Valid September 1st to October 15th.

Three days rent: 390 Euros. Each additional night: 100 Euros.
