Spanish Style Home Looking up at Nearby Volcan Baru

Enjoy the ever-changing views of Volcan Baru as the clouds pass by while you sit on the terrace. There is a great variety of birds to see flying over the adjoining coffee field and alighting on the fruit tree near the front of the house. The handmade local stone paths in the garden are lined with flowers and pretty native plants, including banana trees, banderas, birds of paradise, astromelias, azaleas, bamboo, palms, hibiscus, ginger plants and heliconias as well as herbs for cooking and many other species of plants.

The kitchen has lots of closet space and plenty of room to work. You can eat at the bar facing the kitchen, or at a dining room table. You may however choose instead to eat outdoors on the big dining table on the terrace. After dinner, we suggest watching a fire in the outdoor fireplace on the terrace.

Or you may wish to relax in the hot tub outside the master bedroom while gazing up at the stars and listening to the breeze blowing through the coffee field and nearby trees.

In the morning, you may want to run on the running machine or use the elliptical machine and the free weights on the balcony beyond the master bathroom. Take a sun-drenched,refreshing shower in the outdoor but totally private shower when you finish.

The Spanish style house has three bedrooms, one with a sturdy bunk bed (a full bed below and twin above) with a sliding door entrance to the garden and private access to a full bath. This bedroom has plenty of closet space. The master suite is situated on the other side of the house You can step out and enter the sunken hot tub from a sliding door. There is a hall with many shelves and closets and a shoe closet on the way to the master bath. There is a large tub and a shower in the master bath, an enclosed toilet room with fan, and twin sinks in front of a giant mirror. The third bedroom has ample closet space, a full size bed and a sliding glass door.

The living room has sliding doors that open out onto the terrace, and with its high ceiling in the center of the house, gives one the sense that the living room is both indoor and outdoor. There is an indoor fireplace across the living room from the terrace and sofas arranged around a dark wood entertainment center with a 39" widescreen tv and stereo with surround sound and dvd player to watch rental movies. (There is no tv service).

Most of the furniture in the house is made in Colombia of heavy dark wood and there is a massive Indian coffee table in the living room.

The house contains a laundry room, a desk and computer with internet access.

The house has two swings for children outside the adjoining casita, and lounge chairs to take in the morning sun or watch the birds in the fruit trees.

The house has a sophisticated water system with uv filters and giant buried water tank, and there is a back-up water source. A shed in back of the house contains a new 7200 watt generator in case of power interruption (very rare) which is sufficient to run the entire house and nearby casita.

There is a wired security system that can be set while asleep at night and when you are away.
There is a covered 2 car carport connected to the house by a covered walkway.

The house is offered from February 1, 2013. Long term rentals only. We require first and last months rent plus 1 month security deposit. Rental does not include the absolutely trustworthy and pleasant weekly maid at $20 per week and wonderful gardener at $15 per week and electricity (Union Fenosa) averaging $75-100 and propane tank at $5.35, about 1.5 tanks per month.

You will be connected with repairmen should anything at all need to be fixed or you have any questions about anything. They will also call to check on you with helpful advice about living in Boquete, navigating the bureaucracy, etc.

There is also a charming one bedroom casita across the lawn from the main house, with an additional loft bedroom, kitchen, laundry area, covered terrace with dining table and rocking chairs, cable tv and internet offered for an additional $675 per month. Photos on request.
