The village sits in a sea of vineyards and gently undulating countryside, that sizzles to the summer sound of crickets and cicadas. Imagine Provence - the land of olives, vines, with the fragrance of wild lavender and thyme. There are wineries in the village and nearby if your penchant is for wine-tasting. Food shopping can be made in Uzes, Ales, Montaren, or in several of the villages in the area. Uzes is an ancient Duchy in France, and the Duchy's historic chateau dominates the vibrant town. The Wednesday and Saturday markets have fresh produce and regional specialities. Within a short drive you can reach vibrant Nimes (airport service with the UK) notable for its Roman Arena, the former Papal city of Avignon and its famous Pont, historic Arles and fortified Aigues-Mortes. Marseille and Montpellier are within 1.5 h drive, and each has an international airport. To contrast with the cities, you could head down to the Camargue and the nearby Mediterranean (Grau du Roi), or northwest to the hilly Cevennes. Alternatively, you could cool off by taking a kayak trip along the Gardon, which flows beneath the historic Roman Aqueduct - the Pont du Gard. Or you could simply stay at home and swim in the pool.
