Bosque Mar is located in Puerto Jimenéz which is a small, diverse, peaceful town with a lot of character. The population is around 8,000, distributed in different areas. It has a hospital, police station, internet cafés, grocery stores, an airport, a public pier, taxi and water taxi services, a bus station, restaurants, a 24 hour ATM, and other public services, all within walking distance.

The town is also full of nature. It has secondary forest, mangrove systems, a bird sanctuary, and a small swamp ecosystem with caimans, small crocodiles, egrets, Basiliscus (Jesus Christ) lizards, and many other interesting specimens.
