Aeroe lies at the southern entrance to the Little Belt and surrounded to the north of Funen, Langeland eastward, Schleswig-Holstein to the south and west Als. The largest cities are Aeroe Marstal 2272 inhabitants Ærøskøbing 1010 inhabitants and 577 inhabitants Søby.
