The club is located in a special out of the way part of the world, but close to the US (1 hour and 20 min. by twin engine turbo prop with Continental or American Airlines). Guests have been coming to the Club Peace and Plenty for over 40 years to 'get away from it all'. The Club is the social center of George Town and the island. The Club patio is 'the' place to watch the Family Island Regatta which is the biggest sailing competition of its kind in the world. Boaters from all over the world stop in Elizabeth Harbor twice each year on thier way to and from the Caribbean and come to the Club Peace and Plenty to exchange stories at our original 18th century slave kitchen bar. Hotel is recognized as an historical site by the Bahamian government. Johnny Depp accepted his People's Choice award by satelitte in the bar. The hotel was built and owned by hotelier Lawerence Lewis, the grand nephew of Henry Flagler in 1958.
