This charming 5B/5B B & B is located on the exclusive island of Contadora - the "Martha's Vineyard" of Central America with vacation homes of the "Who's Who" of Panama and from around the world.

Panama has been voted the #1 retirement place for a number of years now. The American dollar is the currency of Panama, Spanish the main language with English #2. Contadora is below the hurricane belt and earthquake free.

Contadora has lush green vegetation from June to February, tropical birds, and warm turquoise gentle water brimming with tropical fish. Although Panama has a dry and a wet season, the rains on Contadora are usually limited to late afternoon and during the night for a few hours from June - November. Tourists come from colder climates, and from the mainland of Panama, to enjoy the sunny weather, beautiful white sand beaches and warm waters year round.

The very laid-back relaxed tempo of island life offers a variety of ways to spend your sun drenched days; whale watching in July - October, fishing year round, bird watching year round especially from November - March, kayaking to uninhabited islands, and, for the sun lovers, soaking up the sun on one of your favorite beaches. The white sand beaches are in protected coves with waves gently lapping on the shore, perfect for swimming and snorkeling right off the beach. After a leisurely day at the beach or fishing, you can relax with a drink while enjoying the breathtaking view of a sunset over the ocean. As day gives way to night, the island becomes a star gazer's delight.

This B & B has been completely remodeled by the present owner in 2004 and is in immaculate condition. Owner will provide transitional support for a month, and will be residing in Panama for the forseeable future. The housekeepers have been with the B & B since opening and they provide a delicious breakfast and clean the rooms daily.

If you are open to living in another country and culture, in a natural and very peaceful environment come and see for yourself. The night life on this island is what you make it. You would need to be comfortable with a laid back life style.

You have the freedom to close the B & B down during May and/or June if getting away is a priority over earning more revenue. You can also hire innkeepers to run the B & B for you and still earn a decent living, as we have done when we travel.
