About the area: Playa Monagre, is a short drive from Chitre, the fourth largest city in Panama. It is a quiet beach, that sees little traffic, except for the fishermen who use the nearby estuary to dock their boats. Fresh fish and seafood is plentiful and cheap, just ask a passing fisherman. Neighbors include a retired university professor, a Spaniard, an American and a handful of wonderful Panamanians. The nearby "Jardin" (1000 or so feet away) offers wonderful fish, ceviche and other culinary delights. A paved road goes almost all the way to the property, the final 200 meters or so being dirt and sand, but always passable by regular car. An alternate road access is also available, but is a little longer.
