The pricing of this Beachfront home in the 24 hour gated community includes security guards. Playa La Barqueta is very attractive for retirement. Many of the present owners of homes in the community are "Snow Birds" and use the Ocean front home as a second home during the winter in the North American area. The homes can then be used as rental property for a few months. Rental properties are very successful here.
The connection from Panama City Airport to the airport in David has made a major improvement. You can now fly from Tocumen (PTY) to David without having to take a Taxi to the Albrook Airport. Playa La Barqueta is located on the Pacific Ocean in the Golfo de Chiriquí at the western edge of Panama bordering Costa Rica. Golfo de Chiriquí encompasses Coiba Island (known for the best sport fishing in the Pacific) and Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriquí, a 14,740-hectare marine park that encompasses two dozen islands and their surrounding waters. The local mangroves are fantastic for kayaking and a refuge for all kinds of wildlife, including several different monkeys, anteaters, leatherback and hawksbill turtles, a large variety of bird life.
We offer starry night skies, and panoramic views of the mountains and the dormant volcano as well as the 180 degree view of the ocean. This area offers all the conveniences that make life active, peaceful, safe and affordable. The home is located in the Chiriquí lowlands near the Panama cities of David, Boquete, and Volcan. Medical service is excellent in Panama. In the town of David, there are two large and very excellent private hospitals. The cost of medical care is very attractive. There is excellent medical insurance available for about $700 per year.
This area is all accessible by land, sea, or air.
The Airport in David is an International Airport and does offer flights to and from San Jose, Costa Rica. There are also flights from Panama City, and Bocas Del Toro. The town of David is presently making changes to the airport to make it attractive to the major airlines so that it will begin getting direct flights from the USA and Canada in early 2012.
The ocean waters are inviting. Great for surfing and fishing or Kayaking. Or - if you prefer, the beaches offer great hiking, jogging, bicycle riding OR just simply relaxing. Enjoy the scenery and catch the gentle Pacific breezes.
The Pan American Highway comes from Costa Rica, goes through the town of David. and goes directly to Panama City. The drive is easy.
For one of those weekend trips - the home is about a 3 hour drive from the Caribbean town of Bocas Del Toro

By land: 35 minutes from David, one hour from Boquete, one hour from the Costa Rica border and six hours from Panama City.
By air: One hour flights from Panama City to David daily, then 35 minutes by car.
By sea: Arrive at the Pedregal Marina in David by boat and then it is 45 minutes by car.
