Vanuatu Electrical and Plumbing Business for Sale

Extraordinary Opportunity!

Switched-On Services, Vanuatu’s only all-in-one electrical and plumbing business is available for purchase. The business would suit either an owner-operator scenario or as an investment opportunity.
Switched-On currently employs 35 ni-Vanuatu tradesmen, senior technicians, office staff and managers, as well as three ex-patriots in senior tradesmen/management roles. With a well established office in Port Vila, Switched-On Services provides an essential and exceptional service to all corners of Vanuatu.

Company History:

Switched-On Electrical Ltd, now Switched-On Services Ltd, was founded in September 2002, responding to a need in Port Vila for a reliable, quality electrical contractor. The initial staff of two expatriates and three Ni-Vanuatu was quickly shown to be insufficient for the demand for the newly established company. The company quickly grew to include a third expatriate (an electrician) and ten more Ni-Vanuatu, including one office manager.

In 2003, having stabilised the business to meet demand while also providing prompt and quality service, it became apparent that Vanuatu was also lacking a quality plumbing and gas fitting service. The company now had the infrastructure to support an expansion into this area and Switched-On Plumbing was born, resulting in the change of business name to Switched-On Services. The plumbing team, initially consisting of one expatriate and two Ni-Vanuatu, has also undergone expansion since commencement and the plumbing division currently consists of an expatriate plumber and six Ni-Vanuatu staff. In conjunction with the growth of Switched-On Services, the office support staff has expanded to include an expatriate general manager, an assistant general manager, a stock controller, and two additional office assistants.

The owner and managers of Switched-On Services support and promote the skill of their Ni-Vanuatu staff (many of whom had received their initial training at the Vanuatu Institute of Technology) and in addition have developed a comprehensive on-the-job training program. Switched-On has also sent some of the senior Ni-Vanuatu staff overseas for specialist product training. This dedication to providing employment and on-going training for the staff is part of Switched-On Services commitment to continued development. All training follows the guidelines established in our accredited Work, Health and Safety policies.

Through the balanced use of both expatriate and Ni-Vanuatu staff, Switched-On Services now offers a range of project services, from large scale resorts to individual homes and businesses, while also maintaining a service call facility for new and existing clients.

Further Information:

Switched-On Services is now looking for a new owner. The business has expanded greatly since 2002 and still has room for further growth or for greater consolidation of its current position.
