Fresh Spring Water
17 acres of land, own secluded bay, six deluxe bures (bungalows) and main bure just minutes from the famous Astrolabe Reef. The resort has the advantage of its own secluded sandy beach from point to point on a 99 year lease with 88 years left to run.
It has six deluxe bures, all with private verandas, full ensuite facilities and 24 hour electricity. The bures are tiled throughout and have high wooden ceilings with fans and enormous shower rooms, big enough for two! They are 20 yds from the beach and nestled in the trees for privacy all having ocean views. There is a main bure housing reception, dining room, bar, lounge area and a lovely open porch/veranda on the same elevation as the coconut trees. Guests dine on the veranda overlooking the gardens.
There is ample room for further development or to sub-divide into plots for holiday homes for those people wishing to live within a resort complex. The Astrolabe Reef is minutes away, this is the third largest reef system in the world.
The bures are block built with tiled floors, high wooden ceilings and verandas on two sides. The main bure is tiled throughout with a large veranda where guests can have their meals overlooking the tropical gardens, from where the Kadavu parrot can be seen flying past.
The fully equipped dive shop is close to the beach for easy access to the boats.
We generate our own electricity using an inverter system and batteries to store the power. We run the generator about four hours in the 24. This provides the whole resort with constant electricity.
Tropical fruits abound with lime trees, bananas, local pears, pineapples, guavas, mangoes, papayas and lots of coconuts. We grow many of our own vegetables and supplement our supplies from the village.
The water is spring water, gravity fed via the village and stored in five 1,000 gallon containers. This spring water is safe to drink and tastes wonderful. It is tested to make sure it is in keeping with world health.
Kadavu has two flights per day, one from Nadi International Airport and one from Suva, the capital. There is also a weekly ferry from Suva.
