The Most Beautiful, Late-Baroque Residence in Gdansk

Located in the heart of Gdansk, right next to the Old Town and near the Motlawa River Marina, opposite the historic Gdansk Crane. The Marine Museum and the Baltic Filharmony are in immediate vicinity.

The most beautiful, late-baroque, detached residence in Gdansk is the work of the most renowned sculptor of the Old Gdansk – Kazimierz Strzycki. The house has been recognised throughout all publications about Gdansk as „Blackhead House” („Dom pod Murzynkiem”). It was constructed in 1728. For its construction brick was used. The face of the building is richly gilded, bas-relief sculptural work of art. At the beginning of XX century an additional tenement was built on which was connected directly to „Blackhead House”. Both buildings are an integral whole connected with one another with the interiors on each floor. The roof is covered with ceramic monk - nun tiles.

In 2001 the tenement was full restored preserving all the details under the supervision of the Pomerania Monuments Conservator.
Each of the stylish rooms combines classic elegance with modern technology. They are equipped with the original antique and comfortable furniture (option).
Marble-clad bathrooms are fitted with Jacuzzi baths and showers. There is also a Turkish and Finnish sauna.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen and a dining room with a terrace entrance which is situated in a secluded place close to water.

The house has been fitted with modern alarm, fire and surveillance systems as well as anti-burglary window and door panes. Each of the rooms and all other premises has been connected with a fire alarm system. In the immediate vicinity of the building there is a safe parking space. It is possible to build on within the aforementioned plot as well as within the plot adjacent to it.
