Waikiti Downs Station is nestled at the base of the majestic Southern Alps of New Zealand and is one of the largest independently owned slices of Paradise on the treasured West Coast.

The main operation of the farm is cattle grazing including both dairy cows and a fattening program for export meat. Waikiti Downs Station consists of 450ha of free draining river silts and 900ha of river flat grazing. The farm is regarded as having some of the best soils on the West Coast and has become a respected grazing supplier to the West Coast industry. A current fattening contract is in place with Silver Fern Farms, New Zealand’s leading procurer, processor and marketer of sheep, lamb, beef and venison.

Waikiti Downs Station is renowned for it's quality fishing and high fish numbers. The property consists of 45 km's of crystal clear rivers including the Trent, Ahaura, Waikiti, Waiheke and Tutaekuri River's. All five rivers contain prized brown trout with the Ahaura River also holding salmon.

“The fly angler should head for the upper reaches of the Ahaura River where there is excellent water holding good-sized fish, especially well above the Haupiri confluence and running through Waikiti Downs. The river is still quite large and shingly in this area, but fish stocks are good and fish can be spotted in bright low water conditions. Above the Haupiri confluence the water is clear.”

The farm is 612ha of freehold land of which 450ha is productive land currently grazing 1200 cows on a fattening contract for New Zealand largest meat producer Silver Fern Farms. The farm has wind blow and salvage Red Beech which is available for milling. Also a large bush area of Kanuka which could be picked for Kanuka Oil extraction which is is sort after for alternative arthritis and pain relief.

A 35 year consent exists for the construction of a micro hydro power system and is included with the farm purchase.
