The land is close to the village of Astris on the southern side of Thassos and benefits from the best climate on the island. Access from the mainland is via ferry boat to either Thassos town or Prinos. The ferry from Keramote on the mainland to Thassos town takes 35 minutes. Keramote is a short 15 minute drive from Kavala's International Airport.
