Renovated Stone House for Sale in Kirazli, Kusadasi, Aydin, Turkey

Stone Village House with Private Pool and Courtyard Garden

Lovingly rebuilt three bedroom stone home in the charming village of Kirazli in Aegean Turkey. Full of luxury extras whilst retaining loads of character. Established income from rentals. Perfect relocation home in walk in condition.

Back in 2005 my late husband and I came to Kirazli, first we built a boutique hotel here and then charmed by the village and the stone houses we set about rebuilding this old “tas ev”, taking it down stone by stone and rebuilding it with solid foundations and an earthquake frame inside the 50cm thick walls.

The main house has two bedrooms (both ensuite) with open cathedral ceilings and exposed black pine beams cut in Bursa and shipped here. The master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the pine forests and the village and the guest bedroom looks down on the pool courtyard. The ensuites are large and spacious with walk in showers and designer fittings.

Downstairs the main salon is 8m long with a huge feature fireplace at one end. The fireplace has a black granite hearth, is lined with handmade brick and has a 2metre chestnut mantelpiece cut from a piece of wood we found buried in a wood store in Selcuk. The floor tiles are non slip porcelain tiles by Vitra. The stone work around the windows is exposed as are the pine beams above the doors and windows.

The kitchen is spacious for Turkey which tends towards galley kitchens because we eat outside a lot but I love to cook so I have a British style kitchen with black granite worktops, glass fronted cabinets, glass mosaic splashback, double porcelain sink and Ikea cupboards.

Attached to the main house is self contained one bedroom studio. Originally we designed it as an art gallery but when my husband passed away I turned it into living accommodation for guests. It does extremely well as a rental and is currently the number one reviewed rental property for the Kusadasi area on Trip Advisor.

The studio has its own terrace with lovely sunset views, the huge living area has porcelain floors, yet more exposed beams and stonework and a large picture window looking onto the village and the courtyard. The studio bedroom is generous and everywhere has porcelain tiles. The studio has its own bathroom with walk in shower with rainburst shower head and hand made hardwood wash stand.

Outside we have a courtyard garden with brick patios at different levels for eating or barbecuing or sunbathing and the pool which is edged with matt travertine has an integrated waterfall.

This is a beautiful house, extremely unusual for Turkey in that it is full of character features, and it was built with love and has been maintained with care. Everything about it was considered and thought about, from the bit of ancient column built into the exterior wall to the particular type of unfilled travertine that make the window sills.

There is a lot more information about Kirazli and the house on my website (see link below) which also includes my award winning Being Koy blog about living in Turkey and links to my trip advisor reviews. I am keen to sell and there is some room for movement on the price.
