Location and description

In Itauna, the noblest and safest neighborhood in Saquarema, about 1km from the city center. Most of houses in this area have a high standard, with great well-maintained gardens.

This property is only 250m from the famous beach of Itauna, and half a kilometer from the bus station to Rio or other areas of the Saquarema. Close to the house, there are a bakery, a dancing school, some restaurants etc..

Three houses in one big plot of 950m². All of them are totally furnished with kitchen utensils, bed sheets and towels.

Very well conceived and maintained garden, with several convivial spots to rest, eat, have a drink etc.. Japanese garden with little fountain with small fished inside.

Entrance with gate and door, parking for at least 3 cars.

Small swimming pool made of 'azulejos' (tiles), located between the main house and the covered barbecue area. Inside the swimming pool, there is stairs to sit and a table to enjoy a drink while being in the water. Some tables and chairs lie around to have a sunbath or a nice breakfast under the umbrella.

The barbecue area is big and completely furnished as an external kitchen (with fridge, oven, sink and ceiling fan. A beautiful table completes the rustic charm of this place. This is without doubt the central place of the house.

Main house

Excellent one story house partly reconstructed and totally renovated in 2010.
Living space: 180m² with lots of outside areas.

All furniture are handmade with high quality wood. Some of them are antiques. The whole house is very welcoming and charming. It is well equipped, and nicely decorated with art piece.

Big living room with fan, TV/DVD, chairs and coffee table. Dining table that you can use in case you don’t want to be in the barbecue area. The floor is a beautiful parquet and the ceiling is made of purple Ipê, a good quality Brazilian wood. This completes the colonial charm of this room.

Kitchen in an “old English” style with antiques white and blue “azulejos” (tiles), totally equipped with a stove, a fridge and all kitchen utensils you might need. All cupboards made of Massaranduba wood. (don’t forget, there is another kitchen in the barbecue area!)

Beautiful study with big shelves full of books. Huge wood table to work and surf on the internet. All facilities are installed (internet, plugs for computer(s), printer and phone line. A wireless connection has been set up to get internet in the whole property. In this same room, there is a single bed you can use to rest, or when there is a guest sleeping over.

In the main house, there are two bedrooms:

One has a queen size bed(cm160x200), a huge wood wardrobe which is inlaid with the wall, air conditioning and ceiling fan. There is also a beautiful and very elegant antique cabinet with a mirror. This room has its own bathroom, all made of granite and Lei wood.

The other one has a queen size bed as well, a big wardrobe, air conditioning and ceiling fan. There is also a little desk.

The house has another bathroom which can be used for the second room and a social bathroom for eventual guests. It is the exact same bathroom than the other one.

Close to the kitchen, there is a service area with a washing mashing, a sink and some closets. A little room is used to store all bed cloths, hammocks and other material for the house.

Guesthouse

Nice small but very charming house, recently constructed (2010).
Living area: 45m²

Intimate space in front of the house. Small veranda surrounded by bamboos, close to the Japanese garden with little fountain.

Something very special about that house, is a little room on the first floor we call ‘the tree house’. There is an access to the Japanese garden: the stairs are leading to a small terrace which has a tree in its center, growing from downstairs (a Caju tree). You can make a very little bedroom with a hammock but it is above all a dream for all people who are young in their soul. It can be a great place to have its own space in the property to think, read, have a nap, work, or anything you desire to do alone.

Detailed description:

This house has air conditioning in a big room where there are a small american kitchen and a living room with a double bed and a single which is above the other one. This is a Spanish system to save space and to use the double bed as a sofa during the day.

In front of the beds, there is a desk and a cupboard with a TV on it. The kitchen is fully equipped with granite sink, fridge and stove. The granite bar table separates the kitchen from the living/sleeping room.
The house has its own bathroom, made in the same style of the ones of the main house.

As we have in the main house, this house has indirect light in the kitchen and living room. This permits to have a more welcoming place.
Close to the veranda and the Japanese garden, there is a service area with a washing machine and a sink.

Housekeeper or other apartments

At the back of the property, there is another house separated in two apartments. It has been renovated completely in 2010, in the very same style than the rest of the property.

One has a living room, with a little kitchen with fridge and granite (no stove), two single beds, air conditioning and a big closet. It has a bedroom with a queen size bed and a huge wood wardrobe in the wall. A bathroom is linked with the bedroom and the living room.

The other apartment has a single bed, a fridge, a little wood table and a desk. This room has its own bathroom.

One apartment or the other can be used as a housekeeper place.
