Founded during the 12th century as a home for Augustine monks, Venzano overlooks Volterra to the north, and miles of uninterrupted Tuscan hills to the south. A mile from the picture-postcard village of Mazzolla, it sits in splendid isolation, immersed in its gardens.
Venzano's famed gardens, the legacy of horticulturist Donald Leevers, are the subject of the book by Stephanie Donaldson, "Venzano -A Scented Garden in Tuscany".
There are three completed residencies, with plans developed for a total of nine apartments 1000-2000 sq feet each, with private gardens.
We began as a group of friends who wanted to spend time together in a beautiful place. Due to personal circumstances which had a financial effect, we have decided to offer the whole property for sale, although we are presently considering prospective partners to complete the project. We have secured complete building permits, including a swimming pool permit, and have detailed drawings and plans for development.
