Long Island plays host to the Long Island Sailing Regatta that features Bahamian handcrafted boats. Long Island is noted as a premier bone-fish island and the bill fishing along the Atlantic is world famous. Dean's blue hole is over 660 feet deep and is the premier place in the world for free diving world record setting.

And like all the Bahamian "out" islands (and Long Island is out there "right on the Atlantic" - 160 miles southeast of Nassau), there's excellent; swimming, diving, fishing, boating, tennis, biking and other outdoor sporting activities.
