Unique beach front hotel in Canoa for sale. The hotel is named La Vista and is located in front of the beach, in the Canoa village. The property is one of the finest and largest inside Canoa, with 1110m2 and 30 meter beachfront.
The beach town of Canoa is an up and coming beach resort, thanks to its beautiful beach, a wide 17 km long strip of white sand, its surf rolling in all year long, and the accommodation and activities that the community of locals and foreigners have created together.
The hotel is known for its unique façade and architectonic style. The extensive use of hardwood, bamboo and thatched roof, gives the structure a traditional touch. The hotel, built in 2005, is a 500m2 construction, with 10 spacious rooms, reception and lounge area, restaurant, bar, kitchen, office, laundry, and storage rooms.
The hotel offers a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere to travelers and tourists alike. We are listed in several guidebooks, and receive guests all year long, with high season from December throughout April, and then again from mid-July to mid-September. We usually have a mix of foreigners and locals alike. The hotel is run with a professional staff of 4, extending the staff to 6 in high season, and gives a profitable income all year long.
We, the owners, are a Norwegian/Ecuadorian couple. Hotel La Vista has been more than just a business, it has been our dream come true, to live and work with tourism in a tropical and relaxing environment. Now the time has come for us to do something else, and live a more practical but less exotic life.

Hotel La Vista has 9 spacious rooms, all facing the beach, all with private bath and hot water. The spacious rooms are made with brick walls and wooden floors. Walls and roof are supported decoratively with wooden beams, to add to the traditional style of the area. The windows are of glass and mosquito net that opens out to the balcony outside. The walls are decorated with locally made handy crafts, like paintings and textiles.
1 suite (45m2) in the 3th floor, with private bath and hot water, kitchen, living room with direct TV, and a spacious balcony facing the beach. The suite can be used as living quarters for future owners.
All rooms have a matrimonial bed, two separate beds, or a matrimonial bed and a bunk bed. All beds are equipped with orthopedic madras and mosquito nets. The rooms have a private balcony, facing the beach with a hammock, chairs and a small coffee table.
There are also 2 more rooms with bunk beds that can either be used as living facilities or storage rooms. These rooms will have to share the bath/shower on the backside of the hotel.
The Hotels total capacity is 36 persons in 12 rooms.
The restaurant/bar is a special bamboo structure with bamboo furniture and a capacity of 20 persons (16 more outside in the garden). The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped for a restaurant; Industrial stove/oven/grill, mixers, pots and pans, restaurant line dishes and tupperware.
The bar/restaurant has a great potential for extra income. The restaurant has been functioning as a grill & steak house and also as seafood restaurant the last seasons, using chefs from Quito. For the time being we only offer breakfast in the restaurant.
The hotel has a furnished office, a laundry with washing machine, and 3 storage rooms.
The hotel has a 25 KVA transformer, a 10 KVA Honda generator, an Internet WiFi connection, with coverage for the whole hotel. The hotel has a cistern of 20m3, portable water connection as well as its own well, and 2 septic tanks of approx. 15m3 each. Water is heated with two gas heaters, and water pressure is kept high using pressure tanks. On the backside of the hotel is parking space for some 7 cars.
The hotel has a spacious garden in front of the beach, with tables and chairs, hammocks, palm trees, and a variety of other plants. There is space enough for a future swimming pool in the garden.
The hotel structure is solid reinforced concrete (built to withstand a 7.2 earth quake without damages). The Hardwood doors, hardwood and glass windows, hardwood wood floors (covering the concrete floors), and wooden (false) support beams adds to the classic construction style and hides the concrete.
With the new county regulation the constructions can be up to 5 stories high. The hotel construction will hold up to 6 stories. This means that the hotel can be extended with much more rooms. Maintaining its 3 stories height plus roof, extending the hotel on either side, will allow for 10 more room. Architectural design for this extension exists. Adding another floor, will allow for a total of 26 rooms.
