La Barranca was built in 2006 right on the main road called La Ruta del Sol (Sun Route) in Montanita, Ecuador. This concrete construction is quaint, rustic and bohemian all in one! Family owened, operated and maintained, La Barrance has become one of the most popuplar hotels for Ecuadorian, but also International Travelers. Montanita is well known as the surfing capital of Ecuador, and with its many surfing competitions and championships, you will easily have vacation goers of all nationalities.

La Barranca is a 3 storied complex with a total of 17 rooms (all have private bathrooms, air condition and Direct TV), from one bed, to 2 bed, to family style bedrooms! Many families, espcially from Guayaquil love to vacation here. There is also a 1 bed room suite perfect for honeymooners or couples. It offers its guests a restaurant/bar for any meals during the day. Also, for those hotel guests that would like to take a break from the beach, the hotel does offer a pool/jacuzzi. The grounds are large enough to expand the to a full size pool if interested. Currently it is a nice garden setting.

La Barranca's location is perfect for all of the different types of hotel guests we get every year. From families, to surfers to backpackers to honeymooners. We are within a minute walk to the beach, and minutes walk to the downtown area. Actually, it is perfect for the traveler that does not want to have all of the noise of the downtown area.

With ample parking, vacation goers traveling by car are able to leave their cars parked in front of the hotel. For those not traveling by car, the hotel is accessible to the public transportation that passes right in front of the hotel. Not many hotels in Montanita have this luxury.
