It is approximately 40 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. Bacalar Lake has been a well-kept secret for many years, and slowly nature and water lovers are rediscovering it. The weather is wonderfully warm; its vegetation is fertile and lush.

The villas are surrounded by lush gardens, they were originally designed to be a bed & Breakfast. Unfortunately the project was never completed for health reasons and need remodeling since they have never been occupied. There are currently 2 villas, each with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main town is called Bacalar, and its only a 15 minutes drive. It was recently named "Pueblo Mágico" (Magical Town), a special tourist status given for its exceptional historical value and natural beauty. The town is also on the shores of the lake, where you will also find the Cenote Azul (Blue Sink Hole), the largest and deepest “Cenote” in the Yucatán Peninsula, 300 feet deep and 600 feet in diameter, where its crystal clear waters have been the scenario for International free-diving courses and competitions.
