This beach property is unique in that it has extensive gardens, luxury tented rooms, a large house with spacious veranda for self catering or not, and a fresh water swimming pool. The lodge has undergone major renovation in the past five years.

ACCOMMODATION
Seven safari tents luxuriously appointed, built on stilts, all double accommodation. Coconut wood doors open into the airy tents with Zanzibari beds. Our newest additions are the “family tents”, two thatch roofed tents conjoined by a stone patio, perfect for families with smaller children or friends that want space together. For larger groups or families, there is a large 4-bedroom, 3-bath Swahili style house with spacious veranda overlooking Mkoma Bay. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, stove, and utensils. All rooms have mosquito nets, fans, lamps, hot water, and kimono bathrobes.

DINING
A main dining room and bar overlook the lush garden and there is there is also the option of casual poolside dining using our new wood oven and grill. Numerous sitting areas overlooking the bay make the guests feel as if they are in their own private space.

ACTIVITIES
Our stretch of beach is quiet and relaxed and you may greet the occasional fisherman on the beach. Take the lodge dhow snorkeling off Maziwe Island or for a leisurely cruise up the Pangani River to see the varied bird life or catch a glimpse of the illusive crocodile. Fishing, hiking, kayaking, cycling, or simply relax in a hammock with a good book.

LOCATION & HOW TO GET THERE
Situated on the north coast of Tanzania, 45km south of Tanga and 4km north of Pangani. Daily flights from Dar es Salaam and Arusha to Tanga. Regular flights from Arusha and Dar es Salaam to Mashado/Pangani(15 kms). Local taxis do airport transfers. Can be reached by car following the main road from Tanga.

ELECTRICITY AND WATER
The lodge has three boreholes but water usage is sufficient from just one. Connected to local electricity and water lines, plus a 20 KVA generator that can easily provide power to the entire camp.

A wooden dhow in excellent condition with a 40 HP Yamaha engine takes guests to Maziwe Island or Pangani River.
