This beautiful apartment was completely restored in 2007/2008. It boasts beamed ceilings, and some of the walls are exposed Umbria stone. This apartment is one of four units in the building. The floor was excavated in order to install another area under the new floor in order to allow air to pass underneath, insuring a very dry space.

The fireplace was also completely torn out and replaced with a new stone hearth and a new stainless steel chimney liner. All new wiring, plumbing, and modern gas heating are included as well as artistic iron grating over the new ground floor windows and door. All windows are double pane and have pull down screens.

The kitchen counter has all of the necessary built-in appliances: dishwasher, cooktop, oven and refrigerator. The counter top is beautiful sheet copper and the sink is made of recomposed travertine marble.

The pure country air is attested to by the fireflies that appear in the olive groves and the swallows that dart through the air at twilight. You will be delighted with the many beautiful hill towns in this little Tuscany. A short walk north (3 kilometers, or 1.5 miles) is the lovely medieval hill town of Montecchio with shops, three cafe-bars, three restaurants, post office, bank, and open market every Friday morning. Baschi, Giove, Alviano, Lugnano in Teverina, Amelia, Orte, Narni, and Civitella del Lago are all charming hilltowns within easy driving distance (and some for biking trips). World-famous Orvieto, on the Tuscan/Umbrian border, is 11.2 miles northwest (18 kilometers) and Todi is 18.6 miles (30 kms) northeast. Lago di Bolsena, 45 minutes by car, is the purest lake in Europe, where you can enjoy a day of swimming and picnicking. Nearby the lake are the hill towns of Montefiascone and Capodimonte to add to your pleasure. The historic Umbrian towns of Assisi, Spoleto, Spello, Gubbio, and Perugia are all within picturesque day-trips by car or train. Florence is 2 hours drive north through the beautiful Tuscan countryside and about 1.5 hours by train, and Rome is 1.5 hours south by car or 1 hour by train from stations in nearby Alviano or Orvieto.
