Luxurious House in Peaceful Location Near Beautiful Beach

High-quality homes, up to European and American standards, are available on the coast north of Salvador da Bahia. Not only does this area have a near-perfect climate, in that the temperature essentially always remains within the range of 25 to 30 degrees Celsius (77 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit), but it is only a relatively short distance from the international airport and the other facilities of the large city of Salvador. The area has a number of gated communities (condominiums) that provide the necessary security (do not make the mistake of buying a single independent property unless you are prepared to stand guard duty 24/7). The best of the lot, with the highest standards, is Quinta das Lagoas (see ), between Guarajuba and Itacimirim. It has much larger plots of land than the others and the best security, being surrounded by a lake (it also contains four smaller lakes). It provides the usual infrastructure and security 24/7, but it also has a club house, with communal swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, fitness equipment, sauna, Internet access, TV, and games. In addition, there is a lovely walkway through the woods around the perimeter of the condominium that requires about one hour to walk completely in both directions. The condominium is about 900 meters (yards) from one of the best beaches in Brazil, using two bridges to cross the lake. Upon request, the condominium will provide transport in electric vehicles to and from the beach, but we have never used them, as it is a pleasant walk. This distance is sufficient to avoid the damaging effects of the salt spray nearer the ocean.
Our house is the one closest to the beach, and it is also adjacent to the walkway. It is on a lot of more than 1000 square meters (10,700 square feet), with many trees (mainly coconut and palm) and an automatic irrigation system using water from our well. The adjacent empty lot of the same size is also available. The house has a large verandah facing two lakes and woods; no other houses are visible in that direction. It is always kept cool by breezes off the lakes. The house consists of a lounge; dining room; cloak room; fitted kitchen; TV room; five bedrooms, each with its own bathroom; two additional bathrooms outside; solar-powered hot water system; 8 m x 5.3 m (26 feet x 17 feet) swimming pool and surrounding deck; barbecue, pizza oven, sauna, bathroom, and second kitchen in a separate building next to the pool; double-car garage with electric door; satellite TV; Wi-fi internet connection; bedroom for maid; washing machine. All the furniture and applicances are excellent quality and in good condition.
The lounge is open to the upstairs ceiling, 7.4 meters (24 feet) above, and also opens onto the verandah. It has quality furniture and two large original oil paintings.
The kitchen has a large refrigerator and a large freezer, gas cooker, exhaust fan, water purifier/cooler, microwave, many cupboards.
All the bedrooms have ceiling fans, fitted wardrobes and cupboards in the bathrooms. The master bedroom has a split air conditioner instead of a fan, and that bathroom has both a shower and a jacuzzi.
The sauna has a shower, plus there is a full bathroom next to it. There is a shower next to the pool, which has a cascade of water (waterfall).
During the holiday period (Christmas to Carnival), houses like this can be rented for US$800 per day.
