Beachfront Home for Sale in Torio, Veraguas, Panama

Tranquil, Low Maint, Beachfront Bargain W/Two Master Suites!

Super peaceful home right in front of the ocean. Live your dream of awakening each morning to the comforting sounds of a gentle surf. Greet the day with a healthful stroll on the beach to see what treasures the last tide has delivered. The home is a two story, with two good sized master suites. The main master is open and greatly oversized with the possibility of two separate sitting areas or home/office. Each bedroom has a private, ocean view balcony. The downstairs is a completely open floorplan with the exception of the half bath and laundry room. There is a large covered patio in the front of the home which is ideal for barbeques and relaxing ocean watching. Don't forget snoozing in a hammock! The rear of the house features another covered patio. Use it for a sitting area or a car/boat port. It is long enough for two cars, boat and a car, etc. All rooms feature plenty of windows that aid in the feeling of bringing the outside in. Access from the main road is via a cement and gravel driveway that is about 200 yards to the house. It easily accessible with any type of car.

The home is of a solid concrete block construction. When I bought the property it was a Concrete box, nowhere near completion. I stripped the little finish work they had started and transformed it into a comfortable home that will provide years of satisfaction to it's lucky owner. I have lived on site since the construction began. An added bonus is that, as is the case with all new construction, there have been slight flaws or shortcomings that I have been smoothing out as they have surfaced. Anyone who has bought a new home in ANY country knows that this can sometimes become a nightmare. At the very least a time consuming annoyance. I have eliminated these headaches through a continued presence in the home. Panama gets a lot of rain. Another important area is the water management. The high volume of water can be very destructive I have spent a lot of time and energy on refining the direction and flow of the runoff. This is another example of the many covered items about which you will never know or think about. The mouth of the Torio river is about 200 yards from the house in case you prefer fresh water swimming. While the surf is not world class, surfers have been known to visit. More challenging surf is just a short car ride away. About 300 yards in the opposite direction from the river is a large waterfall that spills onto the beach. During construction, I have used this as my personal shower.

The pueblo of Torio is a small fishing village located on the western shore of the Azuero Peninsula. It is part of a limited amount of Panamanian shoreline that boasts a direct western exposure that provides for breathtaking sunsets. The moonsets are equally staggering during a full moon as the reflection casts a reflective moonbeam, on top of the water, directly to your doorstep! Torio has a few restaurants, a bakery and several tiendas. The next closest town is Mariato (15 minutes). It has several restaurants, a bank, two of the "Chino" general stores, a pharmacy, gas station, a health center, with a 20 bed hospital and more scheduled in the not too distant future. Santiago is just over an hours ride from Torio. There you will find stores to meet all your needs. There are car dealers. multiple super markets, home stores, several hospitals, universities, US type fast food restaurants (along with a myriad of other types of stores and restaurants). The local movie theater is a triplex featuring first run movies. Many of the movies are in English and the cost is about $3 per adult (popcorn and sodas are cheap too). A new modern mall has just broken ground and is just a few years from opening.

The local population of Torio, consists primarily of fisherman with a few small cattlemen also. The growing expat population consists of a wonderful base core that will be glad to welcome you into it's family. Like to fish? Some of the expats get together and share expenses for fishing outings. They always seem to catch more than they can eat as I am always being offered fish from their outings (I don't fish). I do enjoy fresh shrimp and lobster. The local fisherman all return and sell their product to the local wholesaler. This store is about 200 yards from the house. Put in an order with the fisherman and the kids will deliver your fresh catch upon the boats return.

This area is just coming into vogue as several larger developments are coming on line a little bit further down the peninsula. The property is at "blowout" pricing to move quickly. As this area further develops, prices are sure to climb. This is still a great value area. I would challenge anybody that they could not come here, buy a comparable lot and build for the price that I am selling this house. Save yourself a LOT of aggravation and buy a completed home. Move in today and enjoy. Thanks for your interest. Please correspond with further questions or to arrange a private viewing.
