Rancho La Escondida is a privately deeded, exclusive, gated international EcoPark, as well a working farm and ranch. It is a "TurnKey" operation with an income of $3,000 per month. You can rent a cabin to check out the operation for only $300 per month.

Rancho La Escondida is located in the heart of the Highlands of Chiapas with million dollar views of the Sierra Madre Mountains and Lago Angostura, the third larget lake in Latin America. The ranch is just 20 minutes south of San Cristobal de las Casas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Colonial Jewel of Southern Mexico. Rancho La Escondida is 4 miles off the Pan Amercian Highway on a well maintained gravel road.

Rancho La Escondida is a 50 acre Tropical Cloud Forest on top of a mountain. At 5,600 feet above sea level, the climate is perfect year round with highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's. The land is 90% pine, oak and cedar forests. La Escondida is a worldclass birding center with hundreds of different tropical birds as well as a pair of Quetzals that call the ranch home. We can grow anything on the rich volcanic soil. We are currently cultivating salvia divinorum, coffee, peaches, apples, oranges, plums, guavas, mangos, sugar cane, figs, avocadoes, etc. We get monthly harvests from the vegetable garden.

Rancho La Escondida is a working ranch. Income is generated from International EcoTourism, as well as, farm products such as salvia divinorum, chickens, eggs, firewood, rabbits, ducks, turkeys, geese, kittens and puppies. We also breed, train and sell Arabian horses.
