Luxury Double Penthouse in Cotacachi - a Rare Opportunity!
+
+
Two fully furnished, side by side luxury penthouses in a lush valley between two spectacular mountains - Mt. Cotacachi and Mt. Imbaburra - high in the Andes in Northern Ecuador. These penthouses are very special and spiritual places, filled with the warmth and love of the many beautiful people who've blessed us with their company here - Ecuadorian, Indigenous, expats and of course - family!
The penthouses are uniquely designed so that you can host warm, social gatherings with ease or have total peace and solitude in a very generous space.
These luxury penthouses come fully furnished for a very special reason. All our custom designed, solid wood, hand-crafted furniture was made specifically for them. Everything has been designed and chosen to fully enhance your views of the surrounding natural wonders from everywhere in the home. (Ask us about the special story behind the furniture when you're here).
Also when you're here, we'll introduce you to some of our favourite business owners in town. Esther in the nearby Artisan Market, Maria's wonderful leather creations, Sylvia's pharmacia, Anita at one of our favourite restaurants, Shaymie at the Post Office, Rosa our 'fruit lady' and Suzannah our 'veggie lady' at the big market, several favourite ladies available for house cleaning, bilingual taxi drivers, restaurants with take out and delivery services, the dry cleaners, the tailor, our seamstress, a great Spanish teacher, blingual taxi drivers and tour drivers, our fave hardware store, paint store ... well you get the idea. There's just so many wonderful people we'd love to share with you as you settle in.
Your new home occuplies the fourth (top) floor of one of four buildings in our condo complex - a five year old secure, gated and walled community with alarmed entrance doors on each building. It's centrally located just off Leather Street - home to our world famous leather shops.
Primavera II is a condo community with a good mix of expat retirees, active working people, doctors, nurses, entrepreneurs and more. There are a lot of social activities include community gatherings, major holiday celebrations, yoga classes, bridge parties, outdoor BBQ pit and much more.
Like to travel? No problem. When you live in the condo, you just lock up and go. No worries. No hassle. You have great neighbours in the building who are happy to keep an eye on things while you're away. And Quito International Airpot (UIO) is just two hours away by road. (When the new airport is complete in February 2013, this time will be reduced to a little over an hou).
Enjoy the tranquility and beauty of our landscasped and groomed grounds. Pick fresh avocados, peaches, lemons and more from our trees. Spend your time watching the hummingbirds. Or just sit on one of your penthouse decks and enjoy the many views. Sunrise over Mt. Imbabura, sunset over tacachi. If you prefer, just watch life go by all day as you sit in the cool shade of your breezeway. Very energizing moments indeed!
Each penthouse is fully self-contained should you choose to rent one or both out. (There's a large demand for rental property in the area). We can also introduce you to Suzanna if neded - an excellent local rental agent. She handles several Primavera II units for absentee owners.
IF you have a partner and each of you likes you own private space it's easy to do with separate offices, decks, living spaces, kitchens and bathrooms on each side. Private entrance doors to each unit add to the privacy.
You also have choices when family and friends come to visit. They can feel right at home with their own totally private unit behind double locking doors - great if they exceed the 'three day rule'. They can comfortably stay much longer without feeling they're imposing on you and your hospitality. A 'win-win' for everyone!
Whether you love walking like us, jogging or cycling, you have lots of choice year round. After living here for three years we're still discovering new walking routes. You can set a 'sunrise wakeup' route and on your way back, stop in at one of the wonderful bakeries and coffee shops for some 'fresh out of the oven' yummies.
If you're really ambitious, you can cycle the 25 km (15 mile) round trip up to Lake Cuicocha, The Lake Of The Gods near the base of Mt. Cotacachi. You'll have some absolutely stunning vistas as you cycle down back to town.
Few expats here bother with a car. With a populations of about 8,000 people (including about 300 expats) Cotacachi is quite small. Walk four blocks in any direction and you're pretty much out of town. Very reasonable prices for the many buses, taxis, tour drivers and chauffeurs. Buses to everywhere every 15 minutes (including to Quito).
If you do get a car, your penthouses come with two parking spaces. And of course you never have to worry about scraping ice or snow off the windshield either!
