Luxury open-plan villa in European/American style amidst the beautiful nature of beach town Saquarema.

The villa is located in a quiet, rural part of Saquarema, about 6 km (3.85 miles) from the city center, in the midst of the most beautiful nature Brazil can offer and yet close to the highway to Rio de Janeiro (about 100 km = 60 miles). The white, sandy beaches are just a 15 min. drive away: near enough to enjoy a day out but far enough to avoid the crowds and the noise inevitably associated with a beach town.
As the villa is built right at the end of a dead-end street off the main road, there are no safety-issues: you open the gate and enjoy your own little paradise: a hidden gem for people who love nature and cherish their privacy!

The property is what is called a ‘sítio’: a country retreat on ca 25.000 m² (= 6.20 acres):
10.000 m² (= 2.5 acres) have been fenced in as the ‘garden’, where the dogs can freely run around. The rest of the ‘sítio’ (a small hill) has been turned into an orchard with 500 orange trees (4 years old). About 60 producing coconut trees make for a small ‘coqueiral’.
The ‘garden’ is a natural oasis with a large pond and several old, but still producing fruit trees: mangos, cashew, acerola, goiaba, papaya …. We have kept it as natural as possible to preserve the ‘jungle book’ feeling.

4. the laundry room with washing machine, ironing board, freezer and lots of storage space

Metal framed stairs with ipê hardwood steps lead towards the mezzanine (117 m² = 1260 sqft) overlooking the living room. If needed the whole mezzanine with its hardwood ipê floor can easily be turned into 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
At the moment the mezzanine contains:
- a family room
- a hobby space
- a library
- an informal guestroom
- an office
- bathroom


Next to the living room, outside stairs lead towards an extra private en-suite guestroom (30 m² = 323 sqft), underneath the open terrace.

Sliding doors lead from the living room towards the swimming pool ( 8m x 4m = 26ft x 13ft) with a generous terrace and a comfortable ‘Thai Sala’.

Water is supplied by a 5.000 liter water tank that is filled up automatically.
Hot water for kitchen, pantry and bathroom is provided by an externally situated gas boiler.
The interior finishing of the house was done with high quality materials: high end tiles and durable hardwood for the floors, beautiful beams in Brazilian Massaranduba wood, modern sinks and taps in kitchen and bathrooms, stainless steel appliances, durable and maintenance free PVC for outside doors and windows, IGUI swimming pool with 10-year guarantee ….
