We chose Panama for our retirement home for many reasons. One of the reasons is economic. While much of the world has been struggling or declining, Panama has been on the rise. The economy has been good. That is especially true of the beach area and our particular part of the beach community.

We have loved this home, but we have plans to build a cohousing community for 25 retired couples and singles. If you want to be part of such a community, let us know. Our two unit house has given us a great home and great income. It can do either or both for you. It is located on the beach closest to Panama City. We routinely rent either of the two units for $100 to $150 per night. One unit sleeps 6. The other sleeps 3 and has fantastic views.

We are situated in a complex of 18 units and have a caretaker on site 24/6. In the five years we have owned there has never even been a minor theft of things left on the terrazzo! Having people around is the best security. You don't want to buy a great home and then spend all your money and time trying to protect your stuff when you are not there. You will have security for your loved ones and your possessions.

We are a four minute walk to the beach. There are good restaurants within walking distance and many more restaurants and three modern grocery stores within ten minute drive.

Our community is in the formerly SLEEPY fishing village of Nueva Gorgona. It has now been DISCOVERED, but there is still time to participate in the growth of this charming area. IF you could find suitable land, and IF you knew how to build and supervise Panamanian workers, you could probably NOT create this house for LESS than our asking price! They are not making any more near the beach land, and it has become very expensive. Supervising the building process in Panama is very challenging. We have several million dollars worth of construction under out belts in the US and Panama. We built this for our home, so you will love it. Timing is everything. Our long, beautiful beach now has several new beach front high rise condos, completed or under construction. Access to the beach is easy and you will have it to yourself most days.

The original apartment is on the ground floor. It has a complete and functional kitchen which opens to a spacious dining room/living room area. This unit totals over 1200 square feet. It has a bedroom with a queen bed and a second with two twin beds. Both have custom built furniture to allow for storage. There is a large family room with two more twin beds. There is a bath with a shower and a laundry room with a washer and drier and a second toilet and wash basin. There is an outdoor shower. Connected to the family room is an open air terrazzo.

Being near the beach in a rapidly developing area, the infrastructure has had difficulty keeping up with all the new condos. Sometimes the entire beach area does not have water for up to 24 hours. We have a 200 gallon reserve tank and pump to guarantee continuous supply.

The second unit is about 800 square feet. It has a great view of the ocean from the second floor. It is like living in a tree house with a view of the ocean. There is a large bedroom with a King bed, a large bathroom with duel sinks, made of picadillo tile. The living room and kitchen are open and beautifully tiled. The nicest place to eat is on the outdoor terrace, with a view of the sea, of course.


Both units are completely furnished, primarily with custom made furniture. There are a total of 9 ceiling fans and 5 split A/C units. Each unit has a BBQ unit. There is even a large wall mural painted by Panamanian artist who is becoming quite well known, just as this community is becoming well known.
