The building, built by the family Calcagni, later belonged to the Del Bene, who, it seems, did execute the frescoes that adorn the facade of Polidoro da Caravaggio, a pupil of Raphael, in 1525. The Palace is the most decorated of Rome, Polidoro da Caravaggio, came from Rapahel school and had worked at the Vatican loggias few years earlier. The facade of the building was completely covered with frescoes and architectural elements. The building was purchased in 1535 by Monsignor Fabio Arcella, who sold it in 1542 to Luigi Gaddi, from whom it passed to Costanza Farnese . When his mother died, the palace was inherited by the son of the latter, Cardinal Guido Ascanio Sforza, before being purchased by Giulio Ricci in 1577. Recently, the palace became the property of Giuseppe Ricci Paracciani Bergamini, which performed a thorough restoration. The frescoes of the sixteenth century, almost completely disappeared and now are being brought back in some of the facade areas".
