Near La Romana is Casa de Campo, a golf resort with 5 world famous golf courts, 1200 villas, a hotel and the marina. Also part of Casa de Campo is the artist village Altos de Chavon, which was build in 1997 but looks like a real old Spanish village overlooking the river Chavon.
10 min drive away is a golf course under construction and 1 course is planed directly in Dominicus Bayahibe.
To Santo Domingo, the capital, it´s a 2 hours drive. Everything you can´t find in La Romana is available in Santo Domingo.
Next airport is La Romana ( 15 min drive ), then Punta Cana ( 45 min. drive ) and Santo Domingo ( 1,5 hours to Bayahibe )
