Local express bus terminal is 2 km from the house.
Montanita is famous for its great surfing beach, fun nightlife with bargain restaurants, bars and shopping. Good beach break surfing and surfing lessons can also be enjoyed right in front of the house! The beach is gently sloping, so that close-in surf is gentle, safe for children. Large upstairs deck is perfect for dining and parties, provides long views up and down the beach. Enjoy breakfast on the balcony, watch whales when they come through, and watch the sunset over dinner!
Olon, just 2 km to the south is a bigger, upscale community with many expatriates from the USA, Canada, South America and Europe.
If you are thinking of renting out the house when you are away, it is easy to do. The house is fully furnished, ready for you to move in or rent out. The rental calendar fills up quickly; rental records are available on request for serious buyers. Concierge service is provided by neighbors who can arrange tours and various activities such as surfing lessons, kayaking, scuba diving, horseback riding, sport fishing, canopy tour and shopping trips.
There are two small convenience stores in Curia and two fresh produce trucks that park 100 meters from the house 6 days a week, offering a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fresh-caught fish is sold on the beach. Taxis are on call day and night, offering low rates.
Unlimited shopping is available in the city of La Libertad, 1-1/4 hours to the south by car, bus or taxi. La Libertad has an enormous fish market that fills an entire block, surrounded by stalls filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. La Libertad also has a large, modern shopping mall called El Paseo, several large supermarkets, a central market with many small shops offering all kinds of wares at bargain prices, and countless modern specialty shops throughout the city.
A Cell phone comes with the house, and there is high-speed, broadband internet with WiFi throughout the house. Curia also has an internet cafe 200 meters (yards) from the house. In nearby Montanita there are two ATM's, a bank, numerous internet cafe's and many restaurants with a wide variety of international menus at bargain prices.
The house is fully furnished. The upstairs front bedroom opens through double doors onto the huge balcony. Queen-size bed. The back upstairs bedroom has two twin beds. There is a full bath in between.
There is a full bath downstairs, fully equipped kitchen and living room with DVD player & DVD library, large monitor, CD player/radio with ipod dock and auxiliary speakers. The convertible sofa can sleep two. There is a STUDIO APARTMENT with full private bath attached to the back of the house with a separate entrance and ocean view. The studio has a double bed and kitchenette. The STUDIO APARTMENT CAN BE RENTED OUT SEPARATELY OR USED AS A THIRD BEDROOM WITH PRIVATE BATH.
There is a new washing machine and dryer in laundry room at the back of the house.
The yard is landscaped with coconut palms, hammocks and a garden. The trees and plants are watered by a drip irrigation system. The yard is surrounded by a wall for privacy, with a gate right onto the beach and a north gate for car entrance.
