Country House for Sale in Jocotepec, Jalisco, Mexico

Beautifully Furnished and Decorated Home on Quiet Street

This lovely home is located in the desirable subdivision of Roca Azul close to the quiet country town of Jocotepec on beautiful Lake Chapala. The entire house has been rewired and replumbed, and is in perfect condition. It is freshly decorated throughout in cream and sand, and the furnishings are elegant and attractive. Everything is included in the sale, the house is walk in ready, even a washing machine and drier. The kitchen is big enough for the most dedicated cook, with elegant teak cupboards and a pretty breakfast bar. There's a separate dining area overlooking the garden, and a comfortable sitting area with lovely big sofas.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the guest bedroom twin beds, and there is bedlinen and towels for both. Off the master is a sitting room/office and the two bathrooms are light and shiny modern.
Roca Azul is a pleasant tree lined subdivision, with excellent security and a 24 hr guard on the gate. There is a nice mixture of nationalities living here, not at all a "gringo ghetto", but with north Americans and Europeans as well as retired Mexicans and weekenders from the city of Guadalajara, abut an hour's drive away.
The little town of Jocotepec is very welcoming, unspoiled and friendly, there's several excellent doctors ( mine charges 40 pesos a visit, about $3.00) an emergency clinic, dentists, a market, lots of small stores and a supermarket. There are several restaurants and lots of good taco stands where for about $5.00 you can fill up with delicious local food. My favorite restaurant is the Chinese which in my opinion is better than P.F Changs! And for about a quarter the price.
within a half hour drive is pretty cobble stoned Ajijic, popular with artists and socialites, much more expensive, not nearly so friendly as our little town of Joco. But it's nice to go there to the cinema, the English Theater, the excellent restaurants, and of course Walmart. Ajijic is lovely to visit, but for those who like a more integrated, country life, Joco is the perfect place. Do you need to speak Spanish? No, not really, you can get along perfectly well without it, so many people have lived/worked in the US and almost always if you need help a friendly bystander will join in and translate for you, it's all part of the fun for them, the Mexicans in Joco really do like us being here, and show it, you feel like you are a member of their very large families. And ..e weather is just perfect! Never too hot or too cold, and in the rainy season it normally rains at night, with bright sunny days
Some people think that the Lake Chapala area is too "gringo-ized", but it really isn't! It's a just about perfect mix of foreigners and locals, and if you like Mexican life, it's here, in abundance. If you feel like a change, there's all the English language entertainment you cold wish for in Ajijic. I've lived in Spain, Florida, Arizona, Portugal and Costa Rica, (I'm originally from Britain) and let me tell you, this is the truly most wonderful place with the most fabulous weather and the nicest people in the world. E mail me for more information, or best of all, come and see for yourself!
