At Casita Alta Vista you can enjoy the best of Costa Rica at a bargain price! Have breakfast on the covered front porch while watching the sunrise over Irazu Volcano and listening to the songs of colorful tropical birds. At midday have lunch on the porch and walk down to Finca Huetares for a swim or a game of tennis. Or just wander over the two acres and pick some fruit from the trees in season. From Atenas you can catch a safe, comfortable, inexpensive bus to just about anywhere in Costa Rica.

Casita Alta Vista is a cottage in the classic Latin style with white walls, red tile roof, and terra cotta tile floor. Plenty of ventilation with louvered windows on all four sides and a vented atrium in the center.

You won't need air conditioning because the weather in Atenas is always mild. National Geographic magazine claims Atenas has the best climate in the world! A large floor fan is provided.

The cottage is in a gated community, with State-of-the-art electronic security system plus a security wall and a lockable front gate.

The cottage is at the top of a two-acre lot with fabulous views of the Central Valley, the volcanoes, and the mountains and valleys to the north as well. Landscaped with tropical flowers, palm trees, fruit trees, and lawn.

The cottage is small but fully appointed with all kitchen utensils, flatware, stainless steel cookware, coffee maker, toaster, 1 small refrigerator, 1 full-size refrigerator, and four-burner electric stove with oven. Free cell phone available with refundable deposit. Bodega (small attached building) also included with washing machine. Clothes lines in back yard.

Kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets and bedroom closet are all beautiful native cedar wood (photos included). Ceiling is laurel wood with beams of Guanacaste wood. These are native Costa Rican hardwoods.

As a guest you will have complete use of two swimming pools--one Olympic size pool with water slide and hot tub, one smaller pool--and a tennis court and soccer field at the neighboring mini-resort 300 yards (270 meters) downhill via the concrete driveway. The hotel also has a nice restaurant, open some evenings in the high season; the cook is excellent and versatile.

By car you are 5 minutes from downtown Atenas, which has just about anything you may need. Available there are: four supermarkets; several restaurants; four banks, two with ATM; internet cafe's; hardware and appliance stores; video store, Spanish lessons; bus station with frequent, comfortable, inexpensive buses to San Jose, International Airport and other towns.

In Atenas you are in a very good location for exploring all the national parks of Costa Rica. Poas, Barva, Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes are visible from the cottage. You are midway between San Jose and the Pacific coast--20 minutes to downtown San Jose, 30 Minutes from Pacific beaches. SEE HIGHWAY NEWS ABOVE!
