Uvita also has it's own eclectic mix of dining options and local businesses and a great community of locals. A five minute drive inland from Uvita can lead to numerous fresh water streams, many of which have great waterfalls and swimming holes. Up the mountain from Uvita in Escaleras are opportunities for guided horseback trips through jungle and to waterfalls. Just minutes away is a protected forest reserve with zip lines through ancient trees. Lastly, nearby neighboring town Dominical, the largest town in the immediate region, has a plethora of quality dining and nightlife options, along with adventure and tour companies.

The entire region has an intriguing mix of Jungle/Mangrove/Beach/Mountain environments, and it is almost definitely the perfect mix of secluded paradise and modern creature comforts.
