Nah Uxibal (Mayan for the house of good energy) was created with the intention of creating a special place for guests to relax, rejuvenate, and be reminded of the incredible beauty of this world we live in. Situated along turquoise waters and on white sands, Soliman bay is located just 10 minutes north of Tulum and 30 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen, at the end of the busy Maya Riviera coastline. Our small resort consists of two casitas, IK (wind) and HA (water), and a beautiful Main Villa, Uxibal. Uxibal consists of two studios (KIN and AKNA) on either side of an "open to the sea" sitting area on the bottom floor, and a large two bedroom suite on the second and third floors. The Main Suite Uxibal sits under a magnificent palaypa grass roof, 35ft high which is open in the central area to the 3 story pool table and TV area, giving a very spacious and open feel. On the grounds are also a swimming pool with a BBQ area and a caretakers unit. Nah Uxibal sits on a double lot with 30 meters of beachfront by 50 meters deep. A protective 3 meter seawall was built deep into the sand in 2008 for extra protection of the foundations from any future storms.
We designed Nah Uxibal in a fan shape to make the most of the natural trade winds along this coastline. Because of this "natural" AC we have never found the need to add an AC unit, although it is wired into the Villa in each bedroom and can easily be added. Because we are right on the water and because of the great gift of the trade winds, Nah Uxibal stays very comfortable, even in the summer months. Many of our guests are surprised at how pleasant it is, stating "it is cooler here than at home".
Our wonderful caretaker Javier and his wife Victoria have been with us from the creation of Uxibal in 2000 and are invaluable to both the guests and us as owners. They are loved by all of our guests and a very important part of Uxibal. Javier knows every nook and cranny and never misses a thing. Victoria is a great cook and her meals are loved by many.
Soliman Bay is enclosed by reef that runs from point to point providing protection from the open ocean and creating a wonderful calm environment for swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. Soliman has some of the best snorkeling on the coastline and is a big attraction for guests to have this right outside their door. Soliman Bay is also a gated community and very secure. Nah Uxibal has never had a robbery and guests feel safe and well cared for.
We are located just 10 minutes away from the town of Tulum (where an international airport will be built in the future) and the Tulum Mayan Ruins. Other nearby attractions are the Coba Ruins, the Sian Ka'an biosphere, cenotes, jungle, golf courses, and numerous water parks and tours.
We also have a brand new home, Nah Lu'um Ka'an next door that was just completed in Nov of 2011 with an additional 15 meters of beachfront and 50 meters deep. This home is renting well and is a great compliment to Uxibal but is being sold separately. (see listing #181621) Owning both would be ideal since with both you can accommodate any size group, from couples up to groups of 22. Uxibal alone can accommodate up to 16 people or just couples or families since there is a lot of versatility in the h Uxibal is a great investment and a profitable business that has been carefully built for the last 10 years.
