Beach House for Rent in Taveuni, Fiji

Self Contained 3 Bedroom Beach Bungalow

** SORRY BUT HOUSE IS RENTED***
House is about 300 metres to beach behind trees with its own access and also car access-no concrete drive way but we have build a concrete pathway to the house. What it is, you have the beach, main road (not many cars go past), private walkway (about 100 metres long), then front yard (about 30 metres, see photos)then our house (see photos). Please note that you can drive in by car as the neighbors do. Another 2 houses that use this private driveway also. Relatively quite and safe area. The house is not a luxury house with luxury items and does not have air conditioning (you can bring your own but we are not far from the beach so its quite breezy)and you can leave windows open at night as it has lourve windows with aluminium insect screens but is very sturdy (survived many cyclones), made of timber (definitely not run down) and comfortable. Also a small balcony in the front (see photos) to put your feet up or have a bowl of kava or beer at night with neighbors or watch the sunset or just enjoy the quietness and watch the stars with your partner(it is so beautiful at night). There will be 1 mountain bike on property (the other has something wrong with the pedal). The house is fully furnished (master bedroom has queen size bed, 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and 3rd bedroom has 1 single bed.. please see photos). Has hot and cold water (gas powered), cooking is by gas (cheaper option... used to cost a family of 4-5 about $50 a month for gas bills), also has appliances .aster, kettle, microwave 2 burner cook top (gas) but as mentioned cheaper option is by gas, washing machine, fridge, pots, pans, cutlery, bed sheets, blanket, pillows and pillow cases. leaving some towels behind but you may want to bring your own. By Fiji standard it is in good nick but by Australian standards, I would call it a beach bungalow. There is a mini supermarket (better than a 7-11 store), full of groceries such as bread, milk, sugar, salt, cheese, butter, tinned foods, cigarettes, even wine and beer, frozen foods and more... supplies the local area and just like the big supermarket in the main town but without the range and is a little bit more expensive. By car or taxi (cost $12-$15 Fijian), our house is 12 minutes to main town (banks, supermarket, hardware, ATM, PO, etc) with the local hospital another 2 mins past the town. Road is tar sealed. By bus (cost $1 Fijian), it will take you about 30 minutes(bus service runs around the island 3 times a day and takes longer as it stops along the way). Where the house is, to the left of the house (about 5 minutes away) is the Matei Airport (small planes only, 2 -3 flights on a busy day) and to the right (about 3-5 minutes walk from the house) is a small supermarket and a veggie and fruit stall supplying most conveniences. Down the road about 1 kilometre away is the famous Vunibokoi Restaurant/Cafe. Google it by typing Vunibokoi restaurant +Tovu Tovu in URL address field. The restaurant serves breakfast including cuppacino and coffee, lunch and dinner and live entertainment on a Friday night (not a night club just locals singing and playing guitars). There are many fruit trees on the property (bananas, mangoes, kavika, papaya, guava, bread fruit, mountain apple, cherry guava, lemon and also area to grow your own vegetables. Taveuni soil is fertile so anything grows. The house is surrounded by beautiful flowers and lovely plants as seen by the photos. Cooking will be by gas but if the generator is on, you can use the electric kettle, toaster and microwave. The house and area is in a very quite part of town and very friendly neighbors. There are lots of fishing, swimming, diving (diving company nearby), scenic walks, bike riding, etc. Taveuni is the 3rd largest island in Fiji,it has some beautiful waterfalls and scenery (google it).. not much crime as everybody knows each other and Fijians are generally very friendly people. Lifestyle is very idyllic and laid back .. fishing, diving, bush walks, walks along the coast, beach walks, book reading (about 300-500 books on site as owner is an avid reader), hard drive with about 500 English movies, documentary and series (bring your laptop), day out at the waterfall, scenic walks, gardening (very fertile land), Friday night at Vunibokoi Restaurant (also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner), star gazing at night (my favourite), watching the sunset and sunrise, or kava drinking with the friendly neighbors (you might have to supply the kava).... I am looking for a long term tenant (min 3-4 months)as i don't want to be travelling back and forth from the mainland. Included in the price is the mowing of the yard once a month . Happy to negotiate a longer lease as I am working on the main island and will be there for a while. I need someone that will not trash the place, wants somewhere comfortable to stay, have a laid back holiday at a a very economical rent and enjoy what Fiji has to offer. Asking for $500 (US) up to 4 months and $400 (US) if its more than 4 months. Bond (refunded if no damage and if lease is not broken) and lease agreement. applicable.
