Hotel for Sale

FULLY OPERATIONAL CARRIBEAN HOTEL FOR SALE We are selling because we want retired.
The old banana port of Livingston is located where the Rio Dulce spills into the Bay of Amatique on the Caribbean Sea. Overlooking the sea from a low hill, Livingston is still an isolated settlement and is only accessible by boat. In recent decades Livingston has developed a large tourist industry.

Livingston has mixed cultures: Q'eqchi (Maya), Garifuna, Chinese, Hindu, and is located 45 minutes by boat from Belize -- famous for its beautiful reef keys. Nearby is Honduras, also known for its spectacular diving, snorkeling and magnificent art filled ruins of Copán. From Livingston you are within hours of the ruins at Quiriguá and the sensational Tikal.

Rio Dulce - The most beautiful and widest river of Guatemala. The river enters the Caribbean Sea near the town of Livingston. Alongside the river there are several places to visit:

- Castillo de San Felipe (Fort of San Felipe) (Circa 1595) - Built to stop pirates entering the lake from the Caribbean when this part of Central America was an important shipping staging point.
- The River Canyon – Where the wide river boxes up and gets into this strait surrounded by very high limestone walls. Most of its surface covered with lush vegetation, birds everywhere, it is a natural Paradise!
- The sulfurous hot springs (Aguas Calientes)
- Waterfall Lampara
- There is mangrove lagoons also alongside the river and small boats can go into them. The water stays still like a mirror reflecting everything above the mangrove canopy and the skies. You can have a very impressive visit to hidden gardens where local aquatic flowers and wading birds can be observed.
- El Golfete – Where the river flows into a long narrow lake

Siete Altares - a series of seven waterfalls connected by a lazy jungle creek

Playa Blanca - A white sand beach, something different from the rest of places with black sand due to the volcanic nature of Guatemala.

Cocoli River

Canoeing and Kayaking

Sarstoon River – A river in the Toledo District of Belize. It makes the country's southern border with Guatemala. You can also visit nearby cays and snorkel in crystal clear waters and a marine reserve.

The evenings in Livingston… you’ll find a very relaxed world where the time seems to have a different pace.
