Cliff Side Home Above Pacific for Sale in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico

Stunning Oceanside Villa on a Cliff Above Warm Pacific

Puerto Escondido is in the state of Oaxaca and is an old fishing port where they used to load coffee from the hills above the town for shipment. It is a calm town of about 30K people with very little crime and certainly non of the violent drug cartel crime you read about in the newspapers. The people are warm and friendly and living expenses in this part of Oaxaca, Mexico are incredibly inexpensive. You can live well and have a maid and gardener for about $1,500/mo. A 20 minute drive can take you from the warm Pacific and sunny beaches to the cooler mountains where rich coffee is grown.

The villa is a rare hexagon shaped house that sits on a cliff over the warm Pacific. It has two levels and 10' high windows facing the ocean on both levels. Both levels are open and offer spectacular views of the ocean. The whole upper level is the master bedroom with built in office, open shower in one corner with windows on 270 degrees and all you see is ocean. Master bedroom has built in pedistal king size bed in the center of the room. A perfect place to write a book. House has land phone line and internet.

First floor has bedroom, laundry, bodega for storage and huge kitchen/dining/living area. House is cement and rebar and sitting on granite cliff. Garden around the house has many banana plants that produce all year, lime, hybiscus, different colors of bouganvilla, coconut, jasmine, coffee, lychee, cacao and miscellaneous tropical flowers. You can take a shower in the almost hidden garden shower surrounded by tropical plants.

You are just minutes away from the center of town for shopping or a 10 minute walk to the little harbor where you buy fresh fish from the fishermen that come in each morning to sell their catch. There are nearby beaches that are spectacular. One long beach called Zicatela is world famous for surfing. Quiet cove for swimming with crystal clear warm water is a 10 minute walk from front gate.

Driving north to the capital called Oaxaca through the coffee country puts you in the middle of many stunning Mayan ruins to explore in the State of Oaxaca and nearby Chiapas.

Puerto Escondido has an international airport (PXM) but few flights. Nearby Huatulco (HUX) has many 45 minute flights each day to Mexico City for connections worldwide.

Take a look at it. You will fall in love with the place like I did. This is a 'location, location, location' property and will always be valuable because there are no other building lots like this left in this area.
