Quiet Paradise Found in Private Estate in Northern Belize
The house proper is located on approximately 4 acres of the 36.5 acre site, 5 miles by road (two miles as the crow flies) outside of Progresso Village, 15 miles from Corozal and Orange Walk (two major cities). It is approximately 1/3 mile from a beautiful lagoon which is approximately 1/2 mile across and 5 miles long and access to the ocean via the lagoons and adjoining river. The closest neighbor is approximately 1/3 mile away through the jungle. The area is very safe, as I ride my bike from the village at night around 10 PM and never get bothered. The village folk are very friendly and helpful. I hangout there every day. The property has a field which is good for farming. I have had corn and black bean crops on them every year. The property was sugar cane fields when I purchased it.
The cabanas are simple wood frame construction with baked enamel zinc for the siding and roofing. There is no dry-wall inside, open-stud construction. Only one of the three cabanas has an attached bathroom. The other two cabanas would use the main shower and toilet room on the side of the main house. There is a boardwalk that connects all three cabanas to the main house. The three cabanas are connected to the well water system and the solar electrical system.
Sewage - There are two septic tanks associated with the main property one for the main house the other for the cabanas.
Solar Electrical System - It is a 4 panel, 16 batteries, 3200 amp inverter, 24 volt charger system. The system can be expanded to 8 panels and 32 batteries. Kitchen - Currently there is a wood burning stove for cooking, again one could purchase a butane stove for the house. The kitchen counters are made of concrete/tile construction for durability. The kitchen is an open-air, pass-through galley style.
TV/Internet/Phone
Since the property is 5 miles outside of the village there are no power lines near by (hence the solar electrical setup). You can get Satellite TV and cellular internet if you choose. I use cellular for both my TV and phone. There are two cellular providers in Belize, BTL Telemedia and Smart. To get hulu, Netflix etc., you would need a Window's 8 Computer or set up a private IPN address on Window's 7 and below.
Water - Two water sources. Fresh drinking water is from the rain collection system. It is supplied by a 3000 gal storage tank and a 300 gal pressure head tank. The rain collection system uses a roof rain gutter collection to fill the tanks. There is also a fresh water well which has a slightly high chloride (salt - like a soft water exchanger) content. Great for bathrooms, not for drinking. The well has a pump, powered by the electrical system, and supplies water to the bathrooms and kitchen. When there is no electricity, which hasn’t happened yet, the rainwater system can be crossed with the well water system to supply the downstairs bathroom.

The property is an “Absolute Title” which can sold to any person resident or not. The property is in my name and has no liens against it.
