This lot is in the very desirable area of Toscana II of Altos del Maria, near Sora. In addition to a 60 x 30 ft building pad, the lot has a cottage home of 800 ft2, and a 10000 gallon pool. The building pad, the cottage and the pool all have wonderful views up and down the valley and across the valley to Picachu, where the sun sets.

The cottage 1bd./1 bath, complete home is often rented for long weekends for about $60 per night. The cottage and pool are very private and peaceful. It is the perfect place to escape a noisy Panama weekend. It has primarily been an owner's retreat.

Property can be sold as a Panamanian corporation and it is eligible for a 15 year tax exemption status. It is great as a family or two family shared property. We would also consider selling the building lot or the pool/cabin separately. The property is large enough and has enough street frontage, so that the Altos administration has assured us that the property may be divided.

Altos del Maria is a development by the Melo Corporation. It has a few thousand building lots, of which ours is one of the larger, and a few hundred completed homes. The monthly fees are modest, and Altos provides good roads, a community center, tennis courts and trails along the river.

We are a 4 minute drive or 15 minute walk to an excellent 30m swimming hole on the Rio Maria. We can hear the water fall in the rainy season.

From the cabin deck one can see the valley and Mount Picachu. There are many species of birds: fly catchers, taningers, chacalacas. oropendula, many hummingbirds, raptors....

We have many types of fruit trees: papaya, lemon, orange, plantain, banana, passion fruit, nutmeg, nance, a bamboo privacy hedge with our neighbors. The fruit trees are young and just beginning to bear bruit. We have wild red and pink ginger, hibiscus around the pool. We also have fan palms.

Altos is a gated community and is very secure.

Shopping for anything you might need is found in the Coronado area about 40 minutes away. The beach is about 30 minutes form Altos.

One of the best aspects of living or staying in Altos is is the interesting group of expats and Panamanians that one finds here. The residents all have interesting stories to share, and all are adventurous.
