Apoyo Lodge is a large 3500sq ft private villa and retreat location. Nestled in an ecological nature reserve on the shores of Lake Apoyo, the lodge is unlike other homes in the laguna because it is situated off the beaten path and boasts no neighbors for miles besides the local howler monkeys regularly heard in the trees. Guests have a chance to experience true solitude and many describe the lodge as the perfect place to "unplug from the outside world". Although secluded, colonial Granada and Masaya are only a half hour drive away.

There are 6 bedrooms and 7 washrooms and the lodge is constructed from local Nicaraguan materials. The ceilings and beams through out the lodge are composed of guadua bamboo. All windows and doors are royal cedar and the floors are laid with traditional wood-fired clay tiles.

There is a spacious fully equipped open aired kitchen, dining and living area with direct views of lush greenery and the lake. Colorful swinging hammock chairs hang suspended from arches in the living area.

There are two expansive suites equipped with cedar french doors that lead to a private balcony meant to relax and admire the views of the laguna.

Due to the breezy air flowing off the laguna, no air-conditioning is needed. Instead all rooms contain ceiling and floor fans and also have their own private, modern american standardized washrooms.

The property has an abundance of lime trees, papaya, mango, banana, coconut palms as well as other fruits indigenous to Nicaragua. There is also a variety of flora and fauna and bird-watching has become a favorite pass time at the lodge.

Outside the villa, the lake is only a stone's throw away and there are many hammocks scattered all around the property.

There is a large spacious outdoor bar complete with hammocks, concrete ping-pong table, refrigerator, charcoal BBQ and pizza oven. This rancho is ideal for group settings and retreats of any kind.

The infinity yoga platform is made from almond and guanacaste wood. It is situated on a terrace facing the laguna and is surrounded by coconut palms and flowers.
